City of Lost Souls

The Fifth book in Cassandra Claire’s Mortal Instruments series

Storyline: When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

This one is interesting RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING! Usually there’s a few chapters that are meh and boring while they’re establishing the story, but not this one!!! Seriously shit is getting real! From the first chapter of this one I was interested and enthralled, i couldn’t put it down. Since I buddy read this series with my husband, it was hard not to read ahead while he was at work! And honestly he was just as hooked as I am because he’d ask me to go read right after supper every night! It’s an addicting book. I’ve realized that clary sucks at explaining plans or being rational at all, which is a bit annoying actually.. but whatever! I love seeing so many other characters evolve and grow through this book. I truly loved this one, there was alot of questions answered and new questions at the end and so much action!! I think this one was my favourite shadowhunters book so far! On to the next one!!! Because I NEED to see what happens next!!

I rate this book

10/10
