The First book in Veronica Roth’s Divergent series

Storyline: the gripping story of a dystopian world transformed by courage, self-sacrifice, and love. told in beautiful, rich language. One choice can transform you. Beatrice Prior’s society is divided into five factions—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice must choose between staying with her Abnegation family and transferring factions. Her choice will shock her community and herself. But the newly christened Tris also has a secret, one she’s determined to keep hidden, because in this world, what makes you different makes you dangerous.Supports the Common Core State Standards

This was a good book! It was quite interesting! I liked the storyline and plot of it! It was quite captivating! It’s quite nicely written, started off a bit rocky at the beginning but then it smoothed itself out. It is fast paced, Not many lulls which is fantastic!! It’s a bit predictable, but there are a few plot twists that you don’t see coming.
The characters though are a bit difficult to love.. Tris is a bit um.. Cold and hard to attach fully to, I hope that changes in the next books though. The male love interest ‘four’ is also a bit unloveable and unreachable.. I just think the characters – at least Tris– should have been a bit more, welcoming. But that aside I would recommend this book! It was pretty good!!
