The Lightning Thief

The First book in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series

Description: Mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking out of the pages of twelve-year-old Percy Jackson’s textbooks and into his life. And worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now, he and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus’s stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus.

This has been on my TBR for years!! And so I finally decided to go for it and see what all the fuss is about!.. I’m gonna start off by saying that anytime a book mentions Hilary Duff’s ‘so yesterday’ you know it’s going to be a good book… I couldn’t help but compare it to Harry Potter and in my opinion so far it wasn’t as good.. but it was still a decent story! It was fun, quick and easy to read. I feel like a lot of this one was world building and explaining so I’m hoping (and assuming) that they’ll just get better from here.. on the bright side the cabin 11 candle I got from Literary Scents makes sense (hah scents, it’s a pun) to me now! Oh goodness I’m tired. But about the book, I liked it and I’ll definitely read the rest of the series.

I rate this book
